Nodule Sled

MARSSAM inherited a ferromanganese nodule sled from the U. of Hawaii. The device is 7′ x 5′ x 2′ in size and is attached to wiring using a solid bridle. The device is designed to scoop large quantities of FeMn nodules (or other loose debris) from the seafloor, allowing water and sediment to pass through the device. The bottom of the apparatus can be opened to release the nodules into a storage container.

MARSSAM has yet to deploy the device but it appears to be in working order. Further testing and maintenance will be done if requested.
